Mary McLaughlin, LCSW Couples therapist in Vienna, VA

If you’re tired of wishing things were different and you’re ready to do something about it, you’re in the right place.

Hi, I’m Mary McLaughlin. For more than 25 years, I’ve helped individuals and couples create meaningful change in their lives and relationships.

If you’re feeling lonely, living like roommates, dealing with infidelity, or stuck in the status quo because it feels easier than rocking the boat, I can help you take a look at what’s happening and plan a path forward. When conversations turn into arguments or silence, something needs to change. I’m a seasoned couples therapist known for working with even the most challenging couples, including those who “don’t believe in therapy.”

I also work with individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or dissatisfied with the direction their life is taking. Whether you’re facing a difficult decision, feeling unsettled about something, or carrying a heavy emotional load, we can work together to sort things out and decide what comes next.

I care deeply about the people I work with. I lean in, ask direct questions, and stay in engaged in the process. I’m rooting for you - whether you’re trying to strengthen your marriage, make a difficult decision, or work through emotions that feel overwhelming.

A supportive space where real progress happens

Your sessions take place in a comfortable, welcoming office - designed to help you focus on what matters most. The space was intentionally created to feel calm, private, and inviting.

Whether you’re coming for couples counseling or individual therapy, the goal is to create a safe space where honest conversations, reflection, and meaningful change can happen.
