About me...

I became a clinical social worker 20 years ago because I truly enjoy the experience of supporting others through challenging times and life transitions.  I graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Studies.  I went on to earn a graduate degree in social work (MSW) from Catholic University, with a concentration in clinical work with families.  I've had the opportunity to work for a variety of mental health agencies school based programs, hospitals, and crisis centers.   Currently, my time is dedicated to my private practice in Vienna, Virginia.  I see children, adolescents, adults, and couples.  I also provide clinical supervision to pre-licensed therapists and consultation to therapists who are seeking support and guidance on challenging cases.

My style is friendly, non-judgmental, sensitive, respectful, and straightforward.  Our sessions will be interactive, with me asking questions, listening to your responses, providing insight, support, and constructive feedback. I will often invite you to consider alternative views or new interpretations of your story.  I will also look for opportunities to add compassion and self-acceptance to your life story.

I have extensive training in various therapeutic models and techniques, including: family systems, internal family systems (IFS), psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy.  For couples, I’m trained and have success using the Gottman method, Imago Relationship Therapy, and discernment counseling.  In my experience, there are many paths to peace and healing, not just one.  I fully believe that clients are the experts on themselves and inherently know what’s best for them.  It’s my job to create a safe space for us to bring the wisest part of you forward.  I look forward to taking this journey with you.
